Mason and Christine Bailey are the dedicated owner-operators of SwimLabs Encinitas (est. 2013),SwimLabs Albuquerque (est. 2020), and SwimWorks Swim School (est. 2022). With a deep passion for water safety and swimming education, they are committed to bringing the life-changing benefits of swimming to the communities they serve and call home. Mason Bailey has been immersed in the world of competitive swimming since the age of seven as a top-ranked junior swimmer in Arizona. He then went on to compete at the collegiate level for Arizona State University. His extensive experience extends beyond the pool, having medaled in numerous open water races both nationally and internationally. Today, Mason remains actively involved in coaching and swim instruction. He works closely with SwimLabs and SwimWorks instructors, helping refine their coaching techniques to ensure the highest level of instruction. Additionally, he continues to mentor and train elite swimmers and triathletes at the high school, collegiate, and Olympic levels, further demonstrating his dedication to the sport and its future generations. Christine supports the SwimLabs and SwimWorks Swim Schools with her background in business administration, marketing and customer service. She is frequently involved in helping each location by working with our front desk teams, interacting with families who want to learn more about our offerings, and connecting with our clients. Christine also has a passion for water safety and loves to develop relationships with local preschools and children's businesses to share best practices in water safety and educate on swim awareness. Mason and Christine have 3 children, Luke who is a Freshman at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA; and twins Catherine and Mitchell who are both Juniors in High School in Phoenix, AZ.
Kayla Blantz

Kayla has had a lifelong passion for aquatics, beginning her journey in 2005 as a swim instructor and growing into leadership roles managing swim schools. As a former high school competitive swimmer, she brings both personal experience and a genuine passion for helping others to her work. For over five years, Kayla has been part of the SwimLabs and SwimWorks team, where she enjoys supporting families and working with children of all ages. As a mother of two young girls, she values the importance of water safety and is committed to creating a positive, supportive environment that helps kids feel confident in and around the water.

Coach Liza

Coach Liza grew up in Hawaii, where she swam competitively for Laupahoehoe High School, qualifying for the State Championships all four years and earning Most Valuable Female Swimmer. Her favorite stroke is butterfly, and she’s competed in everything from sprints to the 500 freestyle.
With over five years of teaching experience, Liza has coached swimmers of all ages, but especially loves working with tots and helping them build confidence and water safety skills. She holds a Master’s in Health Care Administration, two Bachelor’s degrees, and is always eager to keep learning.
A world traveler and Polynesian dancer, Liza has visited nearly every U.S. state and dreams of seeing all the continents. She’s a proud mom of two teenage daughters, a dog lover, and a 24-year U.S. military veteran.
